The monograph provides summary of the global literature and the original studies on etiology, epidemiology, diagnostics, and prevention of classic typhus and Brill–Zinsser disease. The issue of the so-called "natural nidality" of typhus whose careful studying may play an important role in explanation of the ways of the disease evolution. The book provides description of the new scientific approach – a system of mathematical models and computer programs ensuring computational experiments on operational analysis and forecasting development of typhus outbreaks and their consequences.

The monograph can be interesting and useful for a wide circle of specialists (epidemiologists, parasitologists, microbiologists, medical students, and biologists).
