EBOLA vaccine

The Ministry of Health of Russia issued permission to conduct clinical trials of two forms of the vaccine against the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, developed at the FSBI National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after the honorary academician N. F. Gamaleya of the Russian Ministry of Health.

A delegation of the Russian Ministry of Health took part in a meeting with the Intergovernmental Russian-Guinean Commission. Special attention was paid to post-marketing clinical trials in the Republic of Guinea of the Russian vaccine GamEvac-Combi for Ebola virus disease prevention.

Russia’s Ebola vaccine won great acclaim at an international conference in Congo.

In a solemn ceremony, Russia’s Minister of Health V. I. Skvortsova awarded the Director of FSBI National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after the honorary academician N. F. Gamaleya of the Russian Ministry of Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A. L. Gintsburg the National "Order of Merit” of the Republic of Guinea for his outstanding contribution to the fight against the Ebola epidemic.

The Republic of Guinea completed vaccination with a Russian-made Ebola drug.

Issues pertaining to cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Guinea in the fight against Ebola, including the use of the world's first registered Russian vaccine against Ebola, were discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation V. I. Skvortsova and the wife of the President of the Republic of Guinea, Mrs. D. Kaba Condé, held at the Eurasian Women's Forum.

For participation in the development and research of the Ebola vaccine, a large group of experts and employees of the FSBI National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after the honorary academician N. F. Gamaleya of the Russian Ministry of Health received awards from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

As part of the ongoing fight against Ebola in Kindia, a solemn ceremony to mark the vaccination of the 1000th volunteer was held at the Scientific Clinical and Diagnostic Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Republic of Guinea.
