News from departments and laboratories

With the purpose to optimize the structure of scientific departments the Department of Applied Virology and Immunology was deleted from the structure of the D.I.Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, the Laboratory of Applied Virology and Biotechnology was included in the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics, and the Laboratory for Specific Prevention of Viral Diseases was introduced in the structure of Department of Molecular Vaccinology and Immunodiagnostics.

With the purpose to optimize the structure of scientific departments the Group of Chemistry of Viral Nucleic Acids was deleted from the structure of the Department of General Virology of the D.I.Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, and Laboratory for Chemotherapy of Viral Infections was transformed into Laboratory for Molecular Pathogenesis of Chronic Viral Infections.

In accordance with an Order dated June 25, 2020, M. Yu. Chernukha, Doctor of Medical Science, was appointed head of the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology of Hospital Infections.

In accordance with an Order dated May 15, 2020, the head of the Department of the State Collection of Viruses of the Department of Virology named after D. I. Ivanovsky was appointed as leading researcher of the laboratory of influenza etiology and epidemiology, Doctor of Medical Science E. I. Burtseva, who continues to supervise the laboratory of etiology and influenza epidemiology.

In accordance with an Order dated May 18, 2020, PhD in Biological Science I. V. Dolzhikova was appointed head of the laboratory of the State Virus Collection.

In accordance with the order of April 1, 2020, Candidate of Biological Sciences A.P. Tkachuk was appointed head of the Department of Natural Focal Infections, who continues to manage the translational biomedicine laboratory of the Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology of Bacteria.

By Order No. 48-RP of the Moscow Government dated February 6, 2019 "On conferring the Moscow Government Certificate of Honor" for services in the field of public health protection and many years of conscientious work, the Moscow Government Certificate of Honor was awarded to: Chief Researcher, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences T. V. Grebennikova, Deputy Director for Business and Administrative Work T. V. Domogarova, Chief Researcher, Professor N. A. Zigangirova, Scientific Secretary of the Center, Candidate of Biological Sciences L. K. Kozhevnikova, Chief Researcher, Professor L. V. Kolobukhina and Deputy Head of the Medgamal Branch M. E. Kutilina.

The Russian Foundation for Basic Research, within the framework of a national subscription, provided FSBI National Research Center named after the honorary academician N. F. Gamaleya of the Russian Ministry of Health with access to the online resources of the Springer Nature publishing house. Access to information resources from computers of the local network of the center – without a login or password.

By an Order dated February 1, 2018, the following changes were made to the structure and staffing of the department "Institute of Virology named after D. I. Ivanovsky" from February 16, 2018.
The immunochemistry laboratory (headed by Professor E. V. Karamov) was transferred from the Department of Molecular Virology to the Department of General Virology.
