The monograph summarizes the results of foreign and Russian studies related to microbiology, epidemiology, genetics, diagnostics., clinical performance, and treatment of infections caused by various species of legionella. Detailed description of legionella lifecycle in conjunction to microbiological and genetic specifics makes it possible to understand the patterns of infection dissemination and pathogenesis.

The complex approach to arrangement of microbiological monitoring of epidemiologically dangerous objects is offered for the first time. The key prevention principles are developed.
