The publication is devoted to virus infections remaining the main reason for human diseases.

In the recent years, etiotropic anti-virus drugs have been actively developed to become the core element of the basic therapy of the most widespread virus diseases (flue and other acute respiratory virus infections, herpes, hepatitis, HIV). For other virus infections any adequate etiotropic therapy is still non-existent, they are mostly treated using pathogenetic and symptomatic means.

Part I of the guidance provides a summary of the key drugs currently used for treatment of virus diseases. They are specified in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision (ICD-10). The data provided fully comply with the official materials. In Part II of the guidance the leading infectious disease doctors of the country analyze the current approaches to therapy of virus infections.
