F.I. Yershov Anti-virus Drugs. Handbook. 2nd edition. Moscow, GEOTAR-Media, 2006, 312 p.

Introductory note by member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences V.I. Pokrovsky.

The second edition of the handbook brings together and systemizes multiple, but fragmented data regarding the anti-virus drugs used in medical practice or passing the final stages of critical trials and provides critical analysis of this data. Since release of the first edition, the pharmaceutical market has been added a significant number of new anti-virus drugs quite unfamiliar for the doctors providing direct etiotropic action (chemical drugs, interferons) or contributing to correction of secondary immunodeficiencies (immune response modifiers). Data on the structure, the action mechanism, the indications, the schemes of applications, and the manufacturers of Russian and foreign anti-virus drugs are also provided. A special section is devoted to treatment of the most common and widespread virus infections (flue, herpes, virus hepatitis, HIV, etc.).

The publication is intended for doctors, pharmacy technicians and those who are interested in the current problems of fighting virus infections.
