The monograph summarizes the data on the system of interferons and their inductors accumulated in almost half a century, for the first time reviews evolution of knowledge of interferons as the most important factors of congenital (natural) immunity from their discovery up to now. The key results of clinical application of interferons and their inductors, first of all for treatment of virus infections, are summarized.

The monograph combines the theoretical understanding and the application aspects of the problem in an efficient way. Moreover, it contains data on the products permitted for medical use.
